How to migrate  your site using  All in one Migration plugin

Step 1 - Create a backup of your current/live site.

  • Log into your WP admin on the website you want to move
  • Click on plugins and click on Add New Plugin
  • In the top right-hand corner in the Search Plugins field, enter All-in-One WP Migration and Backup.
  • Look for plugin By ServMask
  • Click on Install Now button then click on Activate
  • On the left side menu, click on All-in-One WP Migration. 
  • Click on the Export to box and select file (It will begin creating a backup)
  • Once complete, click on DOWNLOAD button flashing on screen.


Step 2 - Create a staging site

  • Log into your control panel
  • Click on Add website
  • Click on Staging website
  • Click on Install an app
  • Enter in name to use in the Staging domain field 
  • Under WordPress admin account section enter the admin info (username, email, password)
  • Click Add
  • Once your account has been created, click on Login to admin button. (Note: You may need to wait a  few minutes for the DNS to work. Also if you get privacy errors, click on the Advanced tab, and click on Proceed to (your-name.staging.cp.wpmx.ca)


Step 3 - Restore backup on staging site

  • Click on Login to admin
  • Click on plugins and click on Add New Plugin
  • In the top right-hand corner in the Search Plugins field, enter All-in-One WP Migration and Backup.
  • Look for plugin By ServMask
  • Click on Install Now button then click on Activate
  • On the left side menu, click on All-in-One WP Migration. 
  • Click on Import
  • Click the IMPORT FROM button
  • Click on FILE
  • Upload the file you downloaded. (If your file is larger than 1GB, use link to increase size (Link)
  • Click the PROCEED button
  • Once completed you will get a message Your site has been imported successfully!
  • Click finish and refresh page
  • It will take you the login page.  To see if your site is working, remove everything in URL after the staging.cp.wpmx.ca/ and press enter.  If you site loads up fine, then the migration completed.
  • Your credentials to log in will be from the imported website, not what you just created.


Step 4 - After migration steps

  • Login into staging site WP admin with credentials from live site 
  • Click on settings and permalinks
  • Set your permalinks to your desired settings. You can get them from your current live site.
  • Click save
  • Click on your site name at the top left-hand corner and click on Visit site
  • Your site will load up with the Yourdomain.staging.cp.wpmx.ca
  • Make sure your links are all working as they should.
  • Got back to your WP dashboard and click on settings and general
  • Change the WordPress Address (URL) to your Yourdomain.com
  • Change the Site Address (URL) to  your Yourdomain.com
  • Click save changes


Step 5 - Push site to live.

  • Go back to control panel
  • Click on Push Live and click on to a new website
  • Under Package, select your hosting plan
  • In the domain field, enter in your domain name to use.
  • Click Push live
  • Now your site is ready to go
  • Click on Manage website to go to main page for website.
  • To remove the old staging site, clickl on Websites in the menu on the left side
  • Hover your mouse over  your staging site to remove
  • Click on the three dots on the top right hand corner of the staging site and click Delete
  • Click delete again

Step 6 - Update DNS for your domain

  • Log into your registrar
  • Update DNS for your domain to ns1.wpmx.ca and ns2.wpmx.ca
